About the Event
US Marines from the 23rd Marine Regiment and the Wine Country Marines are bringing Toys for Tots - thru - Cops to the San Francisco Bay Area law enforcement agencies for use in the community. Â Â
Every year the Toys for Tots Program run by the Marines of the 23rd Marine Regiment supports thousands of at risk children in the community. Â Â Additionally, the Wine Country Marines support mililtary and veteran hardship cases annually as well through toy donations, Santa events, financial support and other tangible means to ease grief and improve the lives of our military children.
This year through a record surplus of toys, the Marines of the 23rd Regiment and Wine Country Marines are expanding our program. Â This record surplus was greatly contributed to by the Elks USA fraternal organization through their Helping our Vets by Helping their Children program.Â
Typically we stage the surplus toys at the San Mateo County Jail, located in Redwood City, where deputies and officers can roll through the sally port in their patrol car to collect toys enroute to the various calls they face. Â Â We all know that domestic violence calls are at their highest the week between Christmas and New Years. Â Â
With the massive surplus realized this year, the Marines will provide toys to agencies from San Francisco to Watsonville. They are staging at a location that will be provided to your agency when you RSVP or contact us.
US Marines and Wine Country Marines will be onsite to assist and greet your agency/officers/deputies as they arrive to collect toys.
